Steel Horse HOG Meeting Summary

Director’s Update –

We had many successful events in October starting with a great lunch ride to the BBQ exchange in Gordonsville following our membership meeting on September 2nd; a LibertyOVE policeman’s memorial ride that took place on September 14th; a very productive Road Captains’ meeting on the 21st where we collected great feedback on future rides, discussed developing new member packets, rider safety and Road Captain duties; to finally, a fantastic volunteer turnout for the Folk Festival on the 28th where 13 people helped serve adult beverages while exchanging laughter, having fun and enjoying music and comradery.

Donations Needed for Hurricane Helene Disaster Victims - Steel Horse Harley-Davidson is serving as a drop off location for America’s 911 Foundation who is taking a truck load of needed supplies to those affected by Hurricane Helene. They are looking for bottled water, non-perishable food, manual can openers, toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, brushes, combs, diapers, feminine products, baby wipes, baby food and pet food.  Or you can go to their website at  America's 911 Foundation to make a monetary donation.

Tim Hicks announced has arranged for a Medicare agent to conduct a Medicare 101 information session again this year.  He indicated there are significant changes to Medicare for 2025 that will impact recipients regardless if you have traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage or Medicare through a retirement program.
